Jusuf Nurkic: Gets third double-double in three preseason games

Nurkic had played alongside Nikola Jokic in the frontcourt in the Nuggets’ first two preseason games, but with Jokic resting Sunday, Kenneth Faried slid into the lineup at power forward. It’s not clear if Nurkic will unseat Faried for starting duties when the season begins, but the 22-year-old has certainly proven that he’s deserving of an expanded role regardless of how he’s deployed. Nurkic has notched double-doubles in all three of his preseason contests, averaging 18.0 points (on 48.3% shooting), 13.3 boards, 2.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block in 27.0 minutes per game.
