As part of the NBA's Jr. NBA Week the Los Angeles Lakers hosted a Junior Lakers basketball clinic for 75 kids from Temecula, California at the Pechanga Recreation Center on October 19th, 2016. The basketball clinic focused on instilling the Jr. NBA's core values of sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, and healthy living.
At the beginning of the clinic the participating youth received an official Junior Lakers t-shirt and were introduced to former Laker Brian Cook, who led the clinic with fellow Junior Lakers coaches, Jon Olivero and Tim Vanneman. The coaches led the hour basketball clinic where they worked with the kids on conditioning drills, shooting technique, defensive stance and team work.
At the end of the clinic the Junior Lakers were then given the opportunity to watch the Lakers squad practice prior to their preseason game in San Diego.
It was a great morning filled with hard work, lots of smiles and learning to play the Laker Way.
