Joel Embiid: Working toward 20-24 minutes by opening night

Embiid is currently on a 12-minute restriction, but the expectation is that will gradually increase over the team’s final three preseason contests. The hope is that Embiid will be ready to play 20-plus minutes on opening night, and it’s unclear how long the 76ers will continue to put a hard cap on his nightly workload, assuming he remains healthy. Brown has already indicated that Embiid will be handled with caution, so it’s entirely possible that his playing time will be monitored for the duration of his highly anticipated debut season.
