It was event more than two years in the making, but Embiid was finally cleared to make his NBA debut Wednesday and didn’t disappoint. As was the case during the preseason, Embiid struggled a bit from the field and had trouble with turnovers (four) and fouls (four) despite the 76ers restricting his minutes, but a high usage rate aided his final stat line. Even with a pair of foot fractures delaying his career, Embiid has looked like a franchise player during his time on the court in the preseason and season opener, and playing-time restrictions haven’t gotten in the way of his productivity. The 76ers seem content to act conservatively with Embiid’s workload throughout the season, but he’ll still stand to see his minutes increase as the games pass, which will only help his fantasy stock.
