Jason Smith: Not seeing much time off bench

Smith was expected to see an expanded role to begin the season with Ian Mahinmi (knee) sidelined for several weeks, but Andrew Nicholson has instead taken on a larger role as the Wizards’ top big man off the bench, while starting small forward Otto Porter has occasionally filled in at power forward when Markieff Morris needs a breather. That’s left little opportunity available for Smith, who has logged only 14 minutes through the Wizards’ first two games.
