Jarell Martin: Plays 19 minutes in first career start

Making his first career start, Martin saw a boost from the 13 minutes he logged in his season debut Saturday against the Knicks, but struggled to make much of an imprint on the game and ended up ceding most of the time at power forward to Zach Randolph. With Tony Allen (knee) targeting a return to action for Wednesday’s tilt with the Pelicans, it’s not expected that Martin will have much longevity in the starting five, though he could remain in the lineup for the first half of the Grizzlies’ back-to-back set Tuesday against the Timberwolves.
