Jared Sullinger: Expected to miss 2-3 months

The Raptors announced Sunday that Sullinger will undergo surgery to address a stress reaction in his left foot, which it’s believed he suffered during a workout in Washington on Thursday. The Raptors are preparing to be without Sullinger until at least early January, and it’s possible his absence could extend further toward the All-Star break. With Sullinger sidelined, coach Dwane Casey hinted that Patrick Patterson is the top candidate to move into the starting lineup in his place, though Casey has also noted in the past that he prefers to have Patterson available in a more versatile bench role. If Casey ultimately opts to go in that direction, Pascal Siakam would be the next candidate to start at the four, and Casey said Monday that Siakam and Patterson could end up going “back and forth.”
