The new starting power forward didn’t exactly inspire much confidence in the opener, but Green isn’t necessarily an unknown quantity after turning in some occasionally solid performances over the last two seasons. He even turned in 15 starts in the 2015-16 campaign while playing a career-high 78 games overall, so an improvement on Thursday’s numbers is likely over the course of the preseason slate. Veteran Zach Randolph could also still outpace Green in playing time over the course of the campaign as well, capping Green’s overall upside in the regular season.
