J.J. Barea: Good to go for opener

Barea had been limited over the past week after hyperextending his left elbow, but he showed enough improvement during practices in recent days for the Mavericks to clear him for the opener. The Mavericks may ask Barea to take on a few more minutes than expected to begin the season with the news that Devin Harris (toe) would be sidelined for at least three weeks, but Harris’ workload won’t fall entirely on his shoulders. The team brought in Seth Curry to bolster the second unit in the offseason, and he’ll also be tasked with absorbing some of Harris’ minutes.
