Most of Thomas’ stats came in the second half when the game was well in hand for
the Cavaliers. Thomas was a big part of the Celtics missing 11 of their first 14
shots of the game. One might wonder if the diminutive point guard is wearing
down. He’s averaged only 22.0 points over his past five playoff games, well
below his regular season 28.9 point average. Mentally, he still must be dealing
with the tragic loss of his sister. Physically, he’s facing more fierce, playoff
game double teams than he saw during the regular season. Thomas and the C’s will
look to bounce back Friday at home for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
