Thomas’ response makes it appear as though he wouldn’t be held out even if he did feel some ill-effects of the injury at the start of the regular season. It is still possible, however, that Thomas is held out for some or all of the team’s remaining preseason games as a precautionary measure, and should that be the case, Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier will handle majority of the point guard duties in Thomas’ absence.
