Huge Fourth Quarter Leads To Wolves Win Over Bulls

The Wolves had to move on quickly after learning on Saturday that they would be
without their All-Star forward Jimmy Butler for at least the foreseeable future
with a right knee injury.

While Minnesota started out slow against the Bulls on Saturday night at Target
Center, trailing 62-60 at half, but they bounced back in a big way, defeating
the Bulls 122-104. Minnesota outscored Chicago 36-22 in the fourth quarter.

Those who needed to step up in Butler’s absence did just that.

Jeff Teague led all scorers, finishing with 25 points, seven assists, seven
rebounds and two steals. Andrew Wiggins added 23 points, shooting 10-for-18 from
the field. Karl-Anthony Towns had his league-leading 53rd double-double,
finishing with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Jamal Crawford was huge off the bench,
finishing with 19 points, 15 coming from the 3-point line. Taj Gibson also added
19 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Former Wolf Zach LaVine led Chicago with 21 points, seven assists and six
rebounds. Bobby Portis added 15 points, while David Nwaba scored 14 and hauled
in nine rebounds. Cameron Payne, Cristiano Felicio and Denzel Valentine all
scored 11 points while Kris Dunn added 10.

The Wolves move to 37-26, moving to third in the West. The Bulls fall to 20-38,
12th in the East.

Highlight of the Night

With 6:25 left in the third quarter, Towns blocked LaVine’s layup attempt.
Teague grabbed the rebound and pushed it ahead to Wiggins who made the layup to
give the Wolves a 72-71 lead.

Teague perhaps had his best game of the season, nearly finishing with a
triple-double.
