MIAMI, September 13 – On Saturday, October 22nd, the Miami HEAT will host “HEAT Loud & Proud,” an evening for all of South Florida–especially the LGBTQ community–to dance, have fun and celebrate life and diversity. The dance party will take place at AmericanAirlines Arena's new outdoor venue, the XFINITY East Plaza–34,000 square feet of party space overlooking beautiful Biscayne Bay. The event is free and open to the public but guests must RSVP for their tickets. Donations are welcome but not mandatory. Doors will open at 8:00 p.m.
As long time supporters of the LGBTQ community, the Miami HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena were profoundly moved by the horrible violence that took place at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. The franchise remains steadfastly committed to embracing the diversity that makes Miami a unique and special city.
HEAT Loud & Proud will feature the best in music, entertainment, bites and blends, as well as special guest appearances by representatives of the LGBTQ community and the Miami HEAT. NBC 6's entertainment reporter and host of 6 in the Mix, Roxanne Vargas will emcee the event and the musical lineup will include DJ R Silva, DJ Irie, DJ Citizen Jane, DJ Alyson Calagna and DJ AJ Reddy. In addition, select Miami HEAT players will make cameo appearances during the evening. The HEAT Dancers, Burnie the mascot and the Xtreme Team will mingle with guests and the three Larry O'Brien championship trophies won by the HEAT will be available for photographs. A finalized list of all special guests will be sent out closer to the event.
During the event, the HEAT will make a financial donation to Pridelines, Miami's LGBTQ Community Center and South Florida's oldest LGBTQ services agency, a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in South Florida in 1982. Pridelines' mission is to support, educate and empower South Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and community in safe and diverse environments to promote dialogue, wellness and foster social change.
Guests must RSVP for HEAT Loud & Proud by logging on to HEAT.com/LoudandProud and must be 18 years of age or older to gain admission to the event.
