Today, May 9, marks Nemanja Bjelica’s 28th birthday.
Bjelica, AKA Professor Big Shots, came to the Wolves last offseason after playing in the Euroleague and winning MVP honors. He was originally drafted by the Washington Wizards in the 2nd round of the 2010 draft before being traded to the Wolves on a draft-night trade.
In his first season with the Wolves, fans saw a little bit of everything from the stretch forward. Early on, Bjelica showed off his range and his ability to pass as a big man. He hit a tough stretch, and suffered injuries throughout the middle-part of the season, but bounced back nicely, averaging 10 points and six rebounds in the month of April.
Going into 2015-16, the Wolves hope Bjelica gives them what he did late in the season. He has potential to be very good if he can continue to knock down shots from deep while showing off his point-guard-like passing skills.
Happy birthday, Belly!
