On the game Out of the gates, there was just an awkward rhythm to the game. We lacked effort early on. I think in the second half we played harder. You allow a young team that can shoot the ball well and have a chance to stay in the game, and they hit some tough shots down the stretch and beat us. — Matt Barnes Player Notes Zach Randolph tied his season high with 26 points (Nov. 9 at Los Angeles Clippers, Jan. 4 at Portland)… He added nine rebounds and four assists… Z-Bo has scored 20 or more points in 11 of 23 regular season matchups against his old team… Randolph moved into 98th on the NBA all-time scoring list, passing Stephon Marbury (16,297 career points)…With 16,318 career points, Randolph needs only three points to surpass James Worthy (16,320 career points) to move into 97th place. Mike Conley finished with a season-high 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting (58.8 percent) Midway through the second quarter, Mike Conley converted a four-point play… It was the first four-point play since Conley accomplished the same feat against the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 11, 2014… Damian Lillard also converted a four-point play tonight, the first Grizzlies opponent to do so since Jodie Meeks for the Pistons on Mach 17, 2015. Damian Lillard scored 33 points, hitting nine of his 22 shots from the floor (40.9 percent)… He tied Kemba Walker (Dec. 11 v Charlotte) for the fourth-most points by a Memphis Grizzlies opponent this season… His 33 points were the most in his 20 career games against the Grizzlies, regular seasons and playoffs. Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum scored 21 points on 10-of-24 shooting (41.7 percent)… He has scored 15 or more points in the last seven games against Memphis, including the First Round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs.
