In their third meeting this season, the Memphis Grizzlies fell 122-107 to the Golden State Warriors at FedExForum Friday night.
Although the Warriors snapped the Grizzlies' three-game winning streak, Memphis still leads the season series 2-1.
The Grizzlies failed to gain momentum throughout the game, wrestling with the scoreboard and unable to grab the lead. Memphis struggled to control the ball committing 13 of their 19 turnovers in the first half while the Warriors only committed 12 in total. However, Memphis held a significant advantage in second chance points posting 21 to Golden State's four.
Leading all Grizzlies in scoring, Mike Conley posted his 20th game this season of 20-or-more points finishing with 20 points and 9 assists in 33 minutes. All-Star Marc Gasol also contributed 17 points and nine rebounds in 28 minutes while Zach Randolph posted his 14th double-double off the bench with 17 points and 13 rebounds in 25 minutes. Tony Allen scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, marking his ninth game this season with 15-or-more points. Last season, Allen recorded only eight such games.
The Warriors outscored the Grizzlies in fast-break situations 21-4 in the first half and 30-13 overall. Entering the game, the Warriors led the league at 22.9 in fast-break points per game.
Despite only scoring four points, Draymond Green recorded a triple-double with 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals in 38 minutes, becoming the first NBA player to record a triple-double without scoring at least 10 points. Klay Thompson posted a game-high 36 points in 38 minutes while Andre Iguodala contributed 22 points off the bench.
