A solid team performance led the Memphis Grizzlies to a 112-95 victory against the Washington Wizards at FedExForum on Monday evening.
Memphis improved to 14-12 this season, while Washington fell to 10-13 on their regular season slate. The Grizzlies are 6-1 this season when playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
For the first time this month, all of Memphis’ starters (Barnes, Conley, Gasol, Green, Lee) scored in double digits, with Marc Gasol leading the way with 24 points and 12 rebounds, notching his sixth double-double of the season.
Mike Conley contributed 18 points and dished out 11 of the Grizzlies’ 26 assists, marking his second double-double of the season.
Matt Barnes dropped a season-high 20 points, while Jeff Green and Courtney Lee each notched 15 points, respectively. Off the bench, Mario Chalmers contributed 12 points of his own.
The Grizzlies had a hot night from beyond the arc as the team buried 10 of their 15 attempts (.667) from long range. It is the first time Memphis has hit 10 or more three-pointers since Nov. 27 against the Atlanta Hawks.
On the other side, it was Gary Neal who led the Wizards with 24 points from the bench. Jared Dudley and Ramon Sessions each dropped 14 points, respectively, while Marcin Gortat collected 10 points and nine rebounds on the night.
The first half produced a strong start for the Grizzlies with the help of Conley, who tallied 12 points and handed out six assists and Gasol, who contributed 10 points. Memphis went into the half with a 57-46 advantage.
The Grizzlies began the second half by scoring the first seven points and hitting their first five shots, which converted into 11 points from Lee and Gasol. The mini-run would turn into a larger 13-2 run to open the half, giving Memphis their largest lead (70-48) with 8:26 to play in the third frame. The home team never lost the lead, and won their 10th game this season when scoring over 100 points.
