Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 21 points as Greece knocked off Mexico, 86-70, to clinch the top seed in Group A of the Olympic Qualifier in Italy. Antetokounmpo added five rebounds and two blocks for Greece while shooting 6-for-10 overall and 3-for-5 from 3-point range. The Greek Freak scored nine of his 21 points in the third quarter, helping Greece pull away from Mexico – who held a 35-33 lead over Greece at halftime – by outscoring them 27-13 in the third quarter of play.
Greece will now advance to the semifinals of the Olympic Qualifier in Italy and will face the number two seed from Group B on Friday.
