Game Preview: Warriors v Bulls

The Chicago Bulls continue their West Coast trek with a visit to Oracle Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

The Bulls (26-26) have seen a surge in offense recently, having won three of their last four games and averaging 119.5 points per contest over that span. Their latest victory came at the expense of the Sacramento Kings by a 112-107 margin on Monday night. Chicago played a second consecutive game without Jimmy Butler (heel) but Dwyane Wade stepped up with 31 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal. Michael Carter-Williams managed 21 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. Robin Lopez posted 17 points, six boards, two assists and one steal. Taj Gibson and Jerian Grant turned matching 13-point efforts to round out a productive night for the Bulls’ starting five.

On the injury front, both Butler (heel) and Cristiano Felicio (ankle) will both be questionable heading into Wednesday contest.

The Warriors (43-8) have been on a tear for the last several weeks, but did suffer a 109-106 overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night. DeMarcus Cousins scored 12 of his 32 points in overtime to spearhead the victory for the Kings. Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State with 35 points, nine assists, four rebounds and three steals. Klay Thompson followed with 26 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal. Shaun Livingston paced the bench with eight points.

For Golden State, David West (thumb) and Zaza Pachulia (shoulder) are both ruled out for Wednesday’s game, while Klay Thompson (personal) will likely be listed as probable after being away from the team on bereavment leave for the last two days following the death of his grandfather.

Wednesday’s game will mark the first of two meeetings between the two teams this season. They will reconvene in Chicago on Mar. 2.
