Game Preview: Suns v Pistons

The Detroit Pistons visit the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

The Suns (2-6) will be facing the second night of a back-to-back when they host the Pistons, after falling short 124-121 to the Trail Blazers in a thriller on Tuesday night. The Suns and Blazers combined for 74 points in the fourth quarter alone, as they traded baskets down the stretch. Devin Booker turned it on again with 12 points in the second half and 23 on the game, while Eric Bledsoe led the way with 31 points, four rebounds and four assists. The Suns are playing tight games with five games being decided by less than six points. They are having no trouble scoring, averaging 105 points per game, but need a lot of work on defense where they allow 113 points against. Tyson Chandler missed the last contest and remains out due to “personal reasons”.

The Pistons (4-3) are coming off a 114-82 beat-down they received from the Clippers at the Staples center on Monday. The game was all but over after three quarters, as the Pistons entered the fourth down 91-53. Andre Drummond was Detroit’s best player in the game, finishing with 15 points and 12 rebounds, in 25 minutes. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope went 0-of-6 from the field, while Ish Smith hit 1-of-9, and as a team the Pistons shot only 37 percent in the loss. The Pistons have been up-and-down so far and have a test ahead of them in Phoenix Reggie Jackson remains sidelined with various injuries but is reportedly participating in basketball activities and could be back in a couple of weeks.
