Game Preview: Pistons v Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers face the fourth game of a five-game road trip, as they visit Detroit to take on the Pistons, at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Wednesday evening.

The Lakers (18-36) are 1-2 on their trip so far, and are coming off a 121-107 win in New York on Monday night, where Lou Williams led the way with 22 points and Nick Young followed up with 17. After looking like they might be an over-achieving team, the Lakers took a step back, now finding themselves second-last in the West 6.5 games out of eighth place, while they are 3-7 in their last 10 games. They have struggled on the road this season, where they are 6-23. They allow an average of 110.3 points per game, which is among the worst such totals in the league. Their highest scorer remains their sixth man Lou Williams, who averages 18.3 points per game. They have recently made some adjustments to their starting line up, including going with Brandon Ingram and Tarik Black, instead of Luol Deng and Timofey Mozgov, a change that showed to be effective in trouncing the Knicks on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Pistons (24-28) are battling to hold on to eighth place in the East, as they have won three of their last four, and coming off a solid 113-96 win at home over the 76ers on Monday. All five starters scored in double digits in the win, while Jon Leuer continues to thrive in a starting role and Marcus Morris continues to play well. Andre Drummond has also been a force for Detroit, as he has come up with a few massive double-doubles over his last five outings, including, 17, 18 and 22-rebound performances. The Pistons have won three straight at home, where they are 15-10 so far this season.
