The Brooklyn Nets face the second night of a back-to-back, as they play host to the Washington WIzards, at Barclays Center on Wednesday evening.
The Nets (9-43) are really struggling, as they sit last place in the East, and have lost 10 straight. They are coming off a 111-107 loss in Charlotte, where they put up a good fight, behind 22 points from Bojan Bogdanovic and 20 from Brook Lopez. Despite five players scoring in double digits the Nets fell to a team that had previously lost seven straight. Caris LaVert (knee) missed Tuesday’s contest but is expected to be in game shape for Wednesday. Quincy Acy (ankle) also missed Tuesday’s contest and remains questionable for Wednesday, while there is always the possibility of Brook Lopez resting once during a back-to-back, although there is no such news yet. The Nets are 7-20 at home this season. The Nets have lost 12 straight at home, but nearly all their success has come at the Barclays Center, where they are 7-20 so far this season.
Meanwhile, despite coming off an overtime loss at home against the Cavs on Monday, the Wizards (30-21) are one of the hottest teams in the league, as they are winners of eight of their last 10 games. They have surged into fourth place in the East, only one game behind the fourth-place Raptors, and 5.5 games behind the first-place Cavaliers. John Wall has been spectacular this season, averaging 23.0 points and 10.4 assists per game, while Bradley Beal came up with 41 points in his last outing and is averaging 22.2 points per game this season. The Wizards have won three straight on the road, where they are 8-14 so far this season.
