The San Antonio Spurs take a 2-0 lead on the road when they play the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference first-round playoffs in Game 3 at FedEx Forum on Friday.
To say the Spurs have been dominant over the first two games of the postseason would be a drastic understatement, Not only have they won all eight quarters in the series, they have held the Grizzlies to 142 combined points. The best part about this success is that the Spurs starters have been getting some much needed rest in these games and have yet to surpass 30 minutes in any individual game. This is simply a mismatch of epic proportions and it's painfully clear that Memphis can't score on this stifling San Antonio defense.
Memphis had lost 10 of 11 headed into the playoffs and that form appears to be carrying over to the playoffs. The starters have combined for 68 points in the first two games and that's clearly not good enough to win any games. The good news is that they are back home in the grindhouse, which is a building that the Grizzlies went 26-15 in this season. Even with that in their favor, Memphis comes into this game as a 12-point underdog.
