Game Preview: Grizzlies v Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets will travel to Memphis on Tuesday to take on the Grizzlies at FedExForum.

The Nuggets (3-3) have been battling various injury concerns to start the regular season, as just when they get Gary Harris back from the groin injury that held him out for the first five games, they lose Will Barton, who had been averaging 18.0 points per game, to an ankle injury. Nevertheless, the Nuggets are still an even .500 on the season and are coming off a huge blowout victory against the Celtics. In that game, Denver shot a scorching 49 percent from long range and were led by a 30-point performance from Emanuel Mudiay, who continues to attempt to make that big step forward in his sophomore season. Mudiay has been the catalyst behind a fast-paced Denver offense that is currently ranked 11th in the NBA in scoring, but they’ll be going against a stingy Grizzlies defense on Tuesday.

Those Grizzlies (3-4), however, have lost their last two games as they attempt to work offseason signing Chandler Parsons, who missed the first six games of the season with a knee injury, into the starting lineup and regular rotation. His season debut on Sunday against the Trail Blazers didn’t necessarily go as planned, as while Parsons managed to play 22 minutes in his first time on the floor as a member of the Grizzlies, he shot 0-for-8 from the field and went scoreless. But while Parsons is back and healthy, Memphis could now be without the other man they signed this offseason, starting point guard Mike Conley, who is listed as questionable for Tuesday. Conley has been battling a sore Achilles and, most recently, left hamstring discomfort, and if he is unable to go, the offense would be handed over to rookie Wade Baldwin and Andrew Harrison to serve as the primary point guards.
