The undefeated Golden State Warriors (23-0) log their sixth straight road game in Boston on Friday night as they take on the Celtics (13-9) at TD Garden.
The Warriors continue to make it look easy as they chase NBA lore, making quick work of the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night on the road, 131-123. Klay Thompson was the top points getter, posting 39 while draining 10 of 16 three-pointers. Stephen Curry added 29 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Golden State 35 long-distance shots in total, making 16 of them. Thompson is questionable for Friday’s match-up after rolling his ankle late in the game. The team is now 10 games shy of tying the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers for most consecutive wins.
The Celtics, winners of six of their last eight games, are eager to play spoiler on Friday night. The surprising young club are in second place in the Atlantic Division, just a half a game behind first place Toronto. Their latest victory came at home on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls, 105-100, improving to 7-5 when playing in Boston. More impressive still is that a total of eight Celtics put up double-digits in the win. Isaiah Thomas led with 20 points, while Jared Sullinger had 10 points and 16 rebounds as the team continues to forge an identity and gel as a unit. Thomas is averaging 21 points and 6.3 assists this season.
