The Boston Celtics play host to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the Eastern
Conference Finals, at TD Garden on Sunday evening. LeBron James rose to another
level yet again in Game 6 as he put the Cavaliers on his back, with 46 points,
11 rebounds, nine assists, three steals and one block, in 46 minutes of action.
James played nearly the whole game and managed to come up with countless clutch
plays to force Game 7, George Hill added 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while
Jeff Green chipped in 14 points in 31 minutes off the bench. Kevin Love
(concussion) was forced to leave Game 6 after only five minutes of action, as he
collided with Jayson Tatum. The Cavs trailed after the first quarter, but
outscored the Celtics 34-18 in the second, to take a 54-43 lead into halftime.
The Celtics made a couple of runs but each time they were matched by the
Cavaliers offense. The Cavs are 3-5 on the road so far in the postseason,
including losing all three games in Boston so far. Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance
Jr., Kyle Korver and Jeff Green all contributed well in Game 6 and will need to
stay in focus on the road in Game 7 to give their team a chance. LeBron is
averaging 27.7 points per game on the road in this series, which is about six
points less than his playoff average, but his 9.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists per
game on the road in this series is up to par. Meanwhile, the Celtics have done a
fantastic job taking care of home court, where they are 10-0 so far this post
season, including three wins over the Cavs. The Celtics have had great success
so far by playing as a unit and are so well balanced that they have six players
averaging double-digit scoring in the playoffs. Those players are: Jaylen Brown
18.3 points, Al Horford 15.7 points, Marcus Morris 12.3 points, Terry Rozier
17.2 points, Marcus Smart 10.2 points, and Jayson Tatum 18.2 points. Jaylen
Brown is leading the team in scoring in the series against Cleveland, with 20.8
points per game. Despite playing all of Game 6, Jayson Tatum (head) is
questionable for action due to his collision with Kevin Love that resulted in
Love leaving with a concussion.
