Turner doubled his scoring production from Monday’s seven-point effort against the Jazz in three less minutes on the court while also making his presence felt on the boards. The seventh-year pro remained aggressive throughout and parlayed all six of his attempts from the charity stripe into points. Turner and Maurice Harkless are waging a preseason battle for the starting small forward role, with the former outperforming the latter Friday after the reverse was true in the opener last Monday. Additionally, Allen Crabbe, who’s largely played guard up to this point in his career, is also appears to be in the mix, and started the game at the three Friday. In addition to his duties at the three, head coach Terry Stotts has also indicated the Turner will have a backup point guard role in the coming season, meaning that the versatile veteran should see enough floor time to generate solid fantasy production no matter the scenario.
