The Dallas Wings announced today WNBA champion and Australian National Team
member Erin Phillips is joining the organization as the team’s Director of
Player and Franchise Development. Phillips starts her new role this week.
“Erin has experienced success at every level of the game of basketball and has
been a valuable member of our organization since joining the team,” Dallas Wings
President & Chief Executive Officer Greg Bibb stated. “Erin and her partner
Tracy, along with their children, make the Dallas-Fort Worth area home, and we
are excited to have them remain with the Wings family moving forward. Having
someone with her level of experience and past success involved with our team,
both on and off the court, will help the Wings organization continue to grow and
progress.”
Phillips, who spent nine years in the WNBA while also appearing in two Olympics
with her native Australia, will work closely with the Wings basketball
operations department in a number of capacities. This will include on-court
player development, game planning, scouting and draft preparation. Additionally,
she will assist the players with off-court development initiatives, serving as a
liaison between the roster and staff in areas such as strength and conditioning,
nutrition and sports psychology. The two-time WNBA Champion will also serve the
organization in a business role, assisting with corporate partnership
engagement, ticket sales initiatives and community involvement.
“I am very excited to continue to be a part of the Dallas Wings family,”
Phillips stated. “I am very grateful for the chance to get to work and learn
from three great coaches in Fred Williams, Bridget Pettis and Taj
McWilliams-Franklin. I would like to thank the Dallas Wings Organization for
this amazing opportunity.”
