Payton missed some time in the preseason with a hamstring injury but it was never believed to be serious, and he’s not expected to face any minutes restrictions Wednesday. Looking at the season ahead, Payton will be an asset in terms of assists and steals, but he’ll need to improve in other facets of his game before he’s considered a well-rounded point guard.
