Durant, Westbrook lead Thunder past Lakers in Kobe’s last road game

The Oklahoma City Thunder (55-26) defeated the Los Angeles Lakers (16-65) on Monday evening, 112-79, at Chesapeake Energy Arena. 

Kevin Durant tallied his 64th consecutive game with 20 or more points, while Russell Westbrook needed only the first half to notch his 18th triple-double of the season, as the Thunder cruised past the Lakers in Kobe Bryant's last road game. The win snaps a two-game losing streak for the Thunder, who are now 3-4 in their last seven games, meanwhile the Lakers are 1-10 in their last 11 and have lost 13 in a row on the road.  

The Thunder ran away with this one as they out-scored the Lakers 31-13 in the third quarter. Durant finished with 34 points (11-18 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block, in 27 minutes. Westbrook filled the stat sheet with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 14 assists, and one steal, in 27 minutes. Steven Adams also had a solid game, with 13 points and 15 rebounds, along with two assists, two steals and one block, in 25 minutes. The Thunder shot 44 percent from the field, and only 59 percent from the foul line but held the Lakers to an opponent season-low 28 percent from the field.

Kobe played only 19 minutes but still managed to drop in 13 points (4-12 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT). Robert Sacre tallied a season-high 11 points, along with eight rebounds, in 16 minutes off the bench, while Julius Randle logged nine points and 13 rebounds, in 27 minutes. Despite struggling from the field, the Lakers hit 26 of their 30 free throws. 

The Lakers will wrap-up their season in Utah on Wednesday.

The Thunder's final game of the season will fall on the second night of a back-to-back as they head straigh to San Antonio to take on the Spurs, Tuesday.
