The rookie out of Gonzaga started consistently throughout the preseason for the Thunder and has been rewarded with the starting job to start the season. However, given that Sabonis is still a rookie, don’t be surprised if head coach Billy Donovan still uses veteran backups Ersan Ilyasova and Joffrey Lauvergne for a good chunk of minutes Wednesday as well.
