Nowitzki has been held out of the start of the Mavericks’ preseason schedule in order to limit his workload prior to the start of the regular season. The 38-year-old big man should be back on the court Tuesday, but there’s a good chance he’s put on a minutes restriction. Even with the addition of Harrison Barnes, Nowitzki will likely be the team’s top scoring threat throughout the 2016-17 campaign.
