The Mavericks clarified Wednesday that Harris is battling a sprained big toe on his right foot, and he’ll remain in a walking boot for three weeks before being reevaluated. While the timetable is still rather fluid, the minimum three-week timetable means Harris would likely miss at least the first 10 games of the season. In the veteran’s absence, expect J.J. Barea and Seth Curry to pick up extra minutes behind the starting backcourt of Deron Williams and Wes Matthews.
