As usual, Derrick Williams proved to be durable last season and appeared in 80 games for the Knicks. The forward's best outing came on January 13 against the Nets when he amassed 31 points, seven boards and two steals. His versatility was on full display in that contest, as he worked hard in the post, got to the free-throw line often and threw down some thunderous dunks.
As a whole, the 25-year-old improved on the offensive end. In fact, Williams averaged 9.3 points per game (second-highest in his career) despite playing just 17.9 minutes per contest.
Scoring has never been an issue for the former Arizona Wildcat. Hopefully that trend will continue as a member of the HEAT.
