Derrick Rose: Shut down for season

Rose has played through discomfort and swelling in his non-shooting elbow of late, but with the Bulls officially eliminated from the playoffs over the weekend, there’s no sense in asking the point guard to continue to play at less than 100 percent. Rose joins a number of other regulars, including Taj Gibson and Pau Gasol, who have been ruled out for the final two games, and Aaron Brooks figures to see a heavy minutes load in Rose’s absence. E’Twaun Moore has also been shut down, leaving Chicago rather shorthanded Monday against New Orleans and Wednesday against Philadelphia.
