Derrick Favors: Showing progress, but uncertain for Friday

Favors has yet to return to full practice since experiencing soreness in his left knee, but at least seems to be making progress. While working out Tuesday with assistant coach Tony Lang, Favors was able to do some pick-and-roll drills and sprinting, which represented an upgrade over what the big man’s previous activity included. He’ll still likely need to return to practice either Wednesday or Thursday before the Jazz would clear him for Friday’s game against the Lakers, so Favors should be treated as day-to-day heading into that contest. Boris Diaw would likely log another start at power forward if Favors can’t go.
