A right knee issue kept Favors out of the Jazz’s opener a week ago, and he’s played limited minutes off the bench in each of the team’s last two games Friday against the Lakers and Sunday against the Clippers. The big man now appears ready to take on a larger workload, and the expectation is that he’ll assume the starting power forward spot going forward. Favors could still have his playing time monitored over the next few games, however, as Utah will keep a close eye on the condition of his knee. In 23 minutes Sunday, Favors finished with just five points on 1-of-8 shooting, but he grabbed 11 rebounds to go with one steal. Utah will be without Boris Diaw (knee), who’s started the first three games at power forward, on Tuesday.
