Dennis Schroder: Provides nine points as starter in preseason opener

The third-year guard put together an encouraging performance in the exhibition opener, providing an efficient stat line over his modest time on the court. After two seasons as Jeff Teague’s understudy, Schroder takes the reins of the starting job following the latter’s departure in the offseason. Schroder has already flashed glimpses of being ready for the role, particularly last season, when he averaged 10.0 points, 4.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.1 blocks over 19.7 minutes across 77 games (10 starts).
