Hilliard went unused in Thursday’s preseason opener against the Nets and looks uncertain to be available for the team’s next exhibition, set for Monday versus the Spurs. Since Hilliard isn’t expected to be a major piece in the Pistons’ rotation when the regular season begins, the team can afford to proceed slowly with bringing him back to full health.
