LeBron James, Cavs pushing for ‘two best words ever’: Game 7 Author: Joe Vardon Publication: Cleveland.com
CLEVELAND, Ohio – LeBron James once won five in a row in situations where a loss would send his team home from the playoffs.
They’re called “elimination” games, and James and the Cavs have already staved it off once in the 2016 Finals.
During his two championship runs with the Miami Heat, in 2012 and again the following year, the Heat faced expulsion from the playoffs that many times – twice in the 2012 Eastern finals and three during the 2013 postseason, including twice against the Spurs in the Finals. – CLICK HERE to read full story.
Cleveland Cavaliers Scribbles: 30 of them to get you ready for Game 6 — Terry Pluto Author: Terry Pluto Publication: Cleveland.com
OAKLAND, Calif. — Scribbles in my Cleveland Cavaliers notebook as they prepare to face the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals tonight at Quicken Loans Arena:
1. At the start of the season, both teams had the realistic goal to be right here — the last two NBA teams standing. Nothing changed at the end of the regular season. The Warriors set an NBA record with a 73-9 mark. The Cavs were 57-25, the best record in the East.
2. So the two teams that played in The NBA Finals last season followed that up with the best regular season records in their conferences. I just mention this because rarely is there anything tricky about the NBA Finals. Usually, the teams reaching The Finals are not a surprise. They are not teams that crept through the back door into the playoffs with a record around .500. They have stars and they have won a lot of games to reach this point — not simply played well in the postseason. – CLICK HERE to read full story.
