Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving spark 114-106 win against Detroit Pistons Author: Chris Fedor Publication: Cleveland.com
“AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — During a week of firsts, the Cleveland Cavaliers claimed another.
The first road win of the Tyronn Lue era.
The Cavaliers raced past the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, 114-106, extending their winning streak to three games thanks to another explosive offense performance, led by Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, two players who looked motivated after not getting invited to this year’s All-Star Game.
One night after the results were released, Love scored 29 points on 9-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. He added six rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes.” – CLICK HERE to read full story.
For one night, LeBron James and Cavaliers re-defined ‘sacrifice’ Author: Joe Vardon Publication: Cleveland.com
“AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – One of Tyronn Lue’s key words this week was “sacrifice.”
He used it describe how he believes the Cavaliers need to set aside personal agendas, their branding, if you will. He was talking about deferring to LeBron James on the court, like Dwyane Wade did in Miami.
Lue’s presumably not referring to what happened to David Blatt a week ago, when he was, well, sacrificed for the good of the team.
Anyway, for the first time this season, in the Cavaliers’ 114-106 win over Detroit, James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love each scored over 20 points.
For the particulars, Love led all players with 29 points. Irving was right behind him with 28, and James stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.” – CLICK HERE to read full story.
Kyrie Irving follows Tyronn Lue’s directive and Cleveland Cavaliers show example of accountability: Fedor’s five observations Author: Chris Fedor Publication: Cleveland.com
“AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love contended that not being selected to the All-Star team would be added motivation for the second half of the season.
One night after the rosters were revealed, Love scored 29 points on 9-of-19 from the field in 37 of his best minutes to date. He was calling for the ball early and found the three-point range quickly, canning five triples.
For Love, who has been inconsistent since Kyrie Irving’s return, the game marks the first time scoring at least 20 points in back-to-back games since Nov. 25, the night he followed his season-high 34 points with a 21-point performance against Toronto.
Kyrie Irving, also left out of the mid-season exhibition, added 28 points on 11-of-19 from the field.” – CLICK HERE to read full story.
