Tyronn Lue’s ‘first rodeo’ with LeBron James begins Friday against the Toronto Raptors (video) Author: Joe Vardon Publication: Cleveland.com
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Tyronn Lue’s “first rodeo” begins in earnest Friday in Toronto.
The Cavaliers play the Raptors there in a matchup of the East’s top two teams. Cleveland (41-15) holds a three-game advantage over Toronto (38-18), and a win would pad the Cavs’ lead with 25 games to go.
It would be really difficult for the Raptors to catch Cleveland and wrestle away homecourt advantage through the Eastern finals if they lose Friday. Not only would the Cavs hold a four-game lead, but they’d also own a 2-1 margin in head-to-head play. – CLICK HERE to read full story.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams to miss the next two games with ailing knee Author: Chris Haynes Publication: Cleveland.com
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams will not travel with the team to Toronto for Friday’s game and Washington D.C. for Sunday’s contest, the team announced Thursday.
He will remain in Cleveland for further treatment on his ailing left knee. Williams visited Dr. James Andrews in Florida on Tuesday and the official diagnosis was chondromalacia, a deterioration of the cartilage under the kneecap — commonly known as “runner’s knee.”
Williams has been experiencing knee pain for much of the season and even had injections to help remedy the discomfort. It’s an injury Williams calls “worrisome.” – CLICK HERE to read full story.
How Channing Frye became the 3-point shooter who is here to help the Cleveland Cavaliers Author: Chris Haynes Publication: Cleveland.com
CLEVELAND, Ohio – As Channing Frye tantalized Cavaliers fans with his long-distance aim on Wednesday night in splashing four 3-pointers to help his new team take down the Charlotte Hornets, it was a night and has been a career that almost didn’t happen.
Initially, shooting threes was just a dream of his.
At 25 during the 2008-09 campaign, the 6-11 forward/center wasn’t allowed to take threes. He was playing for the Portland Trail Blazers. It was his second stop after being taken by the New York Knicks at No. 8 in the 2005 draft. – CLICK HERE to read full story.
