LeBron James gifts himself a jump shot on his birthday, says he doesn’t hit full stride until after All-Star break Author: Jason Lloyd Publication: Akron Beacon Journal
DENVER: Now that he’s 31, a multimillionaire and a business mogul, LeBron James joked how people don’t know what to get him for his birthday. So James gave himself a gift in Tuesday’s win against the Denver Nuggets: a jump shot.
James was aware of the ugly stats that surfaced earlier Tuesday that basically identified him as the worst jump shooter in the NBA this season. NBA.com numbers guru John Schuhmann created a chart on Twitter illustrating James as having the worst shooting percentage on mid-range shots and the worst shooting percentage outside the paint of any player in the NBA (minimum 200 attempts).
James entered Tuesday shooting 31.9 percent on mid-range shots and 28.5 percent outside the lane overall. But give him a challenge and he’ll take it. – CLICK HERE to read full story.
LeBron limits comments on Tamir Rice case, saying he doesn’t have enough knowledge of subject Author: Jason Lloyd Publication: Akron Beacon Journalc
DENVER: LeBron James refrained from saying much about the Tamir Rice case because he said he didn’t know many of the details.
A grand jury declined Monday to bring charges against the officers who shot and killed the 12-year-old Rice, who was carrying a toy gun in a Cleveland park last year. The Cavaliers concluded a West Coast trip Tuesday while demonstrators marched in Cleveland’s streets protesting the decision.
“For me, I’ve always been a guy who’s took pride in knowledge of every situation that I’ve ever spoke on. And to be honest, I haven’t really been on top of this issue,” James said. “So it’s hard for me to comment. I understand that any lives that’s lost, what we want more than anything is prayer and the best for the family, for anyone. But for me to comment on the situation, I don’t have enough knowledge about it.” – CLICK HERE to read full story.
LeBron James ‘happy where I’m at’ at 31, even when it’s burdensome Author: Dave McMenamin Publication: ESPN.com
The Internet can be an interesting place for LeBron James to spend his time these days.
Because of a high-profile basketball career in the spotlight that’s now ticked into its 13th season, he’s become a natural target for web-based content, be it an article, blog post, Vine loop, highlight video, meme, photo gallery, social media campaign (or, truth be told, this column you’re reading).
So, on the eve of his 31st birthday, holed up in a hotel room in downtown Denver to avoid the frigid 20-degree temperatures outside on Tuesday, James ventured online to pass the time. He found two distinctly different stories involving his name. – CLICK HERE to read full story.
Final 2015 Player Power Rankings for the Cleveland Cavaliers Author: Greg Swartz Publication: Bleacher Report
Much has changed since we last checked in on the Cleveland Cavaliers Power Rankings in late November.
At that point, both Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert were left off the list, as both had yet to make their season debuts. Matthew Dellavedova and Tristan Thompson had climbed into the top four, and (not) shockingly, LeBron James held the top spot.
Since that time, the Cavaliers have slowly returned a complete, healthy roster. On any given night, the rotation may go 10 or 11 players deep while coach David Blatt tries to figure out his best combinations.
Sitting at 20-9 overall, the Cavs still lead the resurgent Eastern Conference thanks to a sparkling 13-1 home record. To this point, they’ve played the NBA’s seventh-easiest schedule as well. Looking ahead, Cleveland has a brutal January that includes a six-game road trip and home meetings against the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. – CLICK HERE to read full story.
