Players To Watch: Nov. 2

Russell Westbrook, PG ($11,200)

The most explosive player in the game has started 2015-16 strong with averages of 32.0 points, 8.7 assists, 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 5.0 turnovers over the Thunder’s first three games. Westbrook is attempting 24 shots per game to lead the team (and the league) and he’s in total control of the offense even with Kevin Durant ($10,400) at full health. This gameplan will likely continue tonight as Oklahoma City visits the struggling Rockets, who are the first team in NBA history to lose their first three games by 20-plus points. Expect a high-scoring game that will produce plenty of daily fantasy stats for starters on both squads. Chris Paul ($9,300) against the Phoenix Suns (10:30 ET, League Pass) is another strong play tonight.

? Tonight on NBA TV: FanDuel Tip-Off Show (6:30 ET) ?

Giannis Antetokounmpo, SG ($6,500)

The 20-year-old wing has rocketed out of the gates to start the season with averages of 23.5 points on 63 percent shooting (50 percent from 3-point), 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.0 turnovers in 33.4 minutes. The Bucks look lost with Antetokounmpo off the floor and he’s making a strong case for being Milwaukee’s best player. He has a great matchup against the Nets tonight (7:30 ET, League Pass) and should be more than capable of reaching 30-plus daily fantasy points as the Bucks look for their first win of the season.

Jahlil Okafor, C ($5,700)

The No. 3 overall pick had a monster debut last Wednesday with 26 points on 16 shots, seven rebounds, two blocks, an assist and a steal in the Sixers’ loss to Boston. This performance was followed up with similar numbers outside of points against the Jazz as Okafor struggled to finish against Rudy Gobert. Fresh off a weekend without games, Okafor and the Sixers should be in line for strong performances against the Cavaliers (7 ET, League Pass) in a game that could turn into a blowout. Okafor is the clear No. 1 option on offense for Philadelphia and there will be few nights where he doesn’t get 12-plus attempts. That’s great value at $5,700.

Trevor Ariza, SF ($5,500)

Someone on the Rockets has to get going at some point, right? Trevor Ariza seems like a good pick to be that guy tonight as he matches up with Kevin Durant and the Thunder. Ariza is averaging 8.7 points on 25 percent shooting, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 turnovers to start the season and played a team-high 41 minutes in the Rockets’ loss to the Heat yesterday. This heavy workload on a back-to-back could negatively affect Ariza. But that doesn’t seem too likely as it’s early in the season and he’s used to high minute totals. And with few players with defensive talent behind him, Ariza will need to play heavy minutes no matter what as Houston attempts to slow down the Thunder’s high-powered attack. At $5,500, you won’t find many other players who average 35 minutes with consistent defensive stats.

Jerami Grant, PF ($3,900)

Another 76er! Jerami Grant has been impressive off the bench over his first two games, averaging 10.5 points on eight attempts, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 26.1 minutes. Grant scored a team-high 12 points against the Jazz on Friday and could be line for a big night on Monday as there’s a high-chance he will get second-half minutes against the Cavaliers’ reserves if it turns into a blowout. With six $10,000-plus priced players active tonight (Westbrook, Durant, Harden, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin), selecting Grant for one of your two power forward spots would allow you to afford two of tonight’s high-priced studs.
