Players To Watch: Nov. 12

Markieff Morris, PF ($5,800)

The small slate of games on Thursday requires creativity in order to differentiate your team in tournament play. Enter Markieff Morris. The Suns’ big man has struggled to begin 2015-16, but the opportunity remains for him to produce. He’s averaging 14.1 points on 15.9 shots, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.0 turnovers through seven games. However, his best FanDuel game of the season came against his opponent tonight, the Clippers, on November 2 when he tallied 19 points (on 7-for-22 shooting), eight rebounds and two assists for 29.6 FanDuel points. At only $5,800, Morris is a good, mid-level player to target at home against the Clippers (10:30 ET, TNT).

Harrison Barnes, SF ($5,100)

Barnes tallied his best FanDuel game of the season against the Grizzlies last night with 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block in 32 minutes of action to total 34.3 FanDuel points. Barnes saw higher usage in part because Draymond Green ($7,800) was fighting flu-like symptoms and played only 28 minutes. You’d expect those symptoms to linger against the Timberwolves tonight (8 ET, TNT), so Barnes should continue to see an increased role as he matches up with Andrew Wiggins ($7,200). Barnes is averaging 27.38 FanDuel points over his last five games, more than five times the value of his $5,100 salary.

Austin Rivers, PG ($3,500)

An increase in minutes over the Clippers’ last four games makes Rivers a decent, minimum-cost option if you want to afford two or more studs tonight (Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul). Over his last four games, Rivers is tallying 10.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 26.2 minutes for an average of 17.18 FanDuel points. He pulled in his best game of the season against the Mavericks last night, with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 27 minutes of action. This increased role was in part due to J.J. Redick ($4,800) leaving the game after 14 minutes due to back spasms. Redick’s status for tonight’s game against the Suns (10:30 ET, TNT) is still unclear. We’re assuming the Clippers don’t rush him back in a back-to-back setting, allowing Rivers to continue to see increased action.
