Players To Watch: Jan. 26
DeMarcus Cousins, C ($11,200)
Let’s ride the “Boogie” Train until it slows down. Cousins has tallied career-highs in back-to-back games, including a 56-point, 12-rebound, two-block explosion against the Hornets last night. Over his last four games, Cousins is averaging 41.0 points on 26.5 attempts, 14.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks for 63.55 FanDuel points in 39.7 minutes. Cousins matches up with the Portland Trail Blazers tonight (10 ET, NBA League Pass), who have the eighth worst defensive rating. Until he slows down, it’s hard to look past Cousins at the center position.
? Tonight on NBA TV: FanDuel Tip-Off Show (6:30 ET)
Chandler Parsons, SF ($6,400)
Parsons is starting to find his groove. Over his last three games, Parsons is averaging 29.0 points on 60.8 percent from the field, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals for 42.3 FanDuel points in 39.5 minutes. Parsons and the Mavericks face the Los Angeles Lakers tonight (10:30 ET, NBA TV), who have the worst defensive rating in the league. He’s a great option at small forward tonight in what should be a high-scoring contest.
Devin Booker, SG ($4,500)
Brandon Knight (groin) will miss the Suns’ entire four-game road trip. This opens the door even wider for Booker and Archie Goodwin (see below). The two young guards will have plenty of opportunity to produce at low salary points. Over his last three games, Booker is averaging 23.7 points on 45.1 percent shooting and 2.7 assists for 27.5 FanDuel points in 39.7 minutes. He should be able to reach five times the value of his $4,500 salary in a matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers tonight (7 ET, NBA League Pass).
Willie Cauley-Stein, PF ($4,300)
The dominance of DeMarcus Cousins has made it easy to miss how well Cauley-Stein has played over his last four games: 9.8 points (on 7.5 attempts), 10.5 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks per game for 28.0 FanDuel points in 33.0 minutes. He should see similar action tonight against the (10 ET, NBA League Pass) and he’s worth a look if you need to fill a power forward spot with a low-priced player.
Archie Goodwin, PG ($4,100)
Goodwin, like Booker, should see a spike in usage on the Suns’ four-game road trip without Brandon Knight. Goodwin has played 30-plus minutes in his last two games after hitting that mark only once in his previous 23 games this season. Over this two game span, Goodwin is averaging 22.0 points on 15.5 attempts, 3.0 assists, 2.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks for 30.9 FanDuel points in 40.1 minutes. A matchup against the Sixers (7 ET, NBA League Pass) makes Goodwin easily the best low-priced option at point guard on an eight-game Tuesday.
