Players To Watch: Dec. 8
Derrick Favors, PF ($8,300)
The Utah big man is fresh off a career-high, 35-point performance in the Jazz’s win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Along with the points, Favors tallied 13 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block for 54.1 FanDuel points in a season-high 44 minutes of action. Favors comes in at the same price as Draymond Green ($8,300) tonight and looks to be the better option thanks to a favorable matchup against the Sacramento Kings (10 ET, NBA TV), who have the worst defensive rating in the league over the past two weeks (110.2). With Rudy Gobert (sprained MCL) out indefinitely, Favors will continue to receive plenty of usage at the center position for Utah.
? Tonight on NBA TV: FanDuel Tip-Off Show (6:00 ET) ?
Klay Thompson, SG ($6,100)
After a slow stretch to start the season, Thompson has quietly tallied four straight 20-plus point games for the undefeated Warriors. Over that four game span, he’s averaging 22.0 points on 16.5 attempts, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals for 31.0 FanDuel points in 33.1 minutes. Thompson and the Warriors face a tough matchup tonight against the Indiana Pacers (7 ET, NBA TV), who rank sixth in defensive rating on the season. But Indiana allowed 120-plus points in its last two games and could have trouble keeping up with Thompson and Stephen Curry ($10,900) around the 3-point perimeter. If Thompson’s shot is on tonight, he should be able to reach five times the value of his $6,100 salary.
Festus Ezeli, C ($4,600)
Staying with the Warriors vs. Pacers game, Ezeli looks poised to continue the solid play he’s displayed all season. Over his past six games, Ezeli is averaging 9.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for 21.9 FanDuel points in 20.2 minutes of action. Tonight’s game should be a high-scoring, fast-paced affari that produces a lot of rebounds and putback opportunities for Ezeli as he matches up with the equally solid Ian Mahinmi ($5,100). Ezeli has a low ceiling and likely won’t have a huge night. But he’s a consistent, mid-level option at the center position that allows you to fill out your roster with some higher-priced studs.
Patrick Beverley, PG ($4,100)
The defensive-minded point guard continues to start for the Rockets and is averaging 12.0 points on 8.8 attempts, 2.8 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals for 22.75 FanDuel points in 28.2 minutes over his last four games. He has a favorable matchup against the Brooklyn Nets tonight (7:30 ET, NBA League Pass), who struggle defending guards. At $4,100, Beverley is receiving plenty of minutes and should be able to reach at least five times the value of his salary.
Bojan Bogdanovic, SF ($3,600)
Another option in the Rockets vs. Nets game is Bogdanovic. The second-year forward has an increased role now that rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (ankle) is out indefinitely and should receive 20-plus minutes against the Rockets tonight. Over his last three games, Bogdanovic is averaging 6.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals for 15.7 FanDuel points in 19.1 minutes. At $3,600, Bogdanovic should have no trouble hitting five times the value of his salary against fourth worst defense in the league.
