Stat of the Day:Through one week of summer league action, Richaun Holmes has been a relentless rim protector. The 13 blocked shots he’s accumulated in four appearances tops this year’s summer league field from Orlando, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas combined. Holmes has tallied at least two rejections in each game he’s played. Of particular note, the 37th selection of the 2015 draft swatted five shots in his summer debut against Boston on July 4th, and later posted four blocks versus the Los Angeles Lakers last Saturday. Also worth highlighting in respect to Holmes’ summer league performance is that he’s converted all but one of his 17 free throw attempts. His 94.1 free throw percentage is second-best among players who have taken a minimum of 15 shots from the stripe this summer. As a rookie last year, Holmes netted 68.9 percent of his free throws.Notable Quotable:When last we saw the Sixers, two of the newest additions to their summer league roster seemed to be getting more comfortable on the court. Jerami Grant and Nik Stauskas, also the two most seasoned players the Sixers have with them in Las Vegas, both delivered quality showings in Sunday’s 83-70 setback to Chicago. Grant, as he did Saturday versus Los Angeles, scored 10 points; however, he knocked down three of his six field goal attempts against the Bulls, after going two for 10 the day before.Stauskas, meanwhile, was five for 10 from the floor Sunday, before misfiring on his last two shots. He tallied 14 points in the Sixers’ pairing with Chicago on the heels of an eight-point (2-8 fg) effort in the Saturday’s match-up with the Lakers.Assistant coach Lloyd Pierce, who’s in charge of the Sixers’ Samsung NBA Summer League team, noted the progress he saw from Grant and Stauskas, who are readying for their respective third campaigns in the NBA.”Better. Jerami was two for two from the three-point line, that’s an obvious area of emphasis for him, and Nik as well. Not so much that he’s making them, but that he’s taking them. We need him to take and make shots. He has to be aggressive, especially with Ben on the floor, he has to be a guy that can space the floor and knock those three’s down.” Did You See That?:Just because the Sixers had off Monday didn’t mean that several members of the organization weren’t putting in work. James Webb III, a forward from Boise State who was signed in June as an undrafted rookie free agent, lunched with Sixers’ in-arena host Christian Crosby at a downtown Vegas buffet. Video of the candid conversation the two shared over their meal is forthcoming (check back soon on Sixers.com), but for now, here are some stills from the trip:.@webbie_iii gets his buffet on with @ChristianCrosby. #SummerSixers [>> https://t.co/Vp2wMuOpnW ] pic.twitter.com/yrczGhEVmr— Philadelphia 76ers (@Sixers) July 12, 2016

#SummerSixers Sounds:Listen back to a couple highlight calls from the Sixers Summer League Stream audio broadcast of the team’s previous Samsung NBA Summer League outing, a 83-70 defeat to Chicago on Sunday.Around Town:Two of the most highly-touted backcourt shooters available in this past June’s draft filled up the cup Monday in Las Vegas. New Orleans’ Buddy Hield registered 23 points (10-23 fg, 3-12 3fg) while helping lead the Pelicans to a 70-66 triumph over Sacramento at Cox Pavilion. The Oklahoma product also produced seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. In the game before Hield and New Orleans took the floor, Jamal Murray collected 29 points (10-25 fg, 2-10 3fg) in Denver’s 92-81 loss to Miami. The Pelicans picked Hield sixth overall in the draft, one slot before Murray went to the Nuggets. On Tap:The Sixers and Golden State will both be aiming to earn their first win in Samsung NBA Summer League competition Tuesday at 8:30 PM EST at Thomas & Mack Center.
