Coach Mike Malone said Sunday that Nurkic (knee) remains “a ways away” from a return, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.

The Nuggets were previously optimistic that Nurkic would be able to play at some point in November, but based on Malone’s words, it seems like the team has pumped the brakes on the big man’s recovery. Given the indefinite return timetable, it’s difficult to justify rostering Nurkic in non-keeper formats. The Nuggets will continue to use Joffrey Lauvergne as their center until Nurkic draws closer to full health.
