The Detroit Pistons (5-3) travel to Staples Center on Saturday afternoon to face the Clippers (5-4).
After a hot start to the 2015-16 campaign, the Houston Rockets are coming off of a 2-game skid, the most recent of which took place on Wednesday night in a loss at Sacramento, 101-92. Marcus Morris and Reggie Jackson led the Pistons with 16 points apiece, while Andre Drummond put up 14 points of his own and hauled in 17 rebounds. The Pistons shot poorly from beyond the arc in the loss, and now sit at second place in the Central Division, two games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers. Working in the Pistons’ favor moving forward against the Clippers is their defensive prowess, as they stand second in the league in rebounds, hauling in an average of 49 rebounds per game.
The Clippers are coming off of two consecutive losses of their own, falling 118-104 to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night. Blake Griffin, Lance Stephenson, DeAndre Jordan and Austin Rivers all posted 11 points, while Jamal Crawford led Los Angeles off the bench with 18 points. Regardless of their slight slump, the Clippers are the third-most potent offense in the NBA, averaging 105.6 points per game. Los Angeles has won 8 straight games against the Pistons, but working against them on Saturday night is the fact that Chris Paul (groin) is listed as doubtful. The will no doubt be happy to return home after dropping three straight games on the road.
